Biodynamic Principles and the Vegan Debate

If you are familiar with the biodynamic principles then technically a biodynamic wine would not be considered ethically vegan.
Biodynamic practices use cow horns stuffed with fresh cow manure and buried over the winter months as a medium to direct the rays of the cosmos into the manure that is contained within them. This manure is then mixed with rainwater and stirred vigorously for one hour to create a vortex that opens the mixture up to the cosmos before spraying on the vines.
Their are Biodynamic winemakers who don’t use any animal products in the cellar for filtering and fining their wines, and use vegetable based products Instead , others don’t filter or fine their wines, a process used to clarify the wine,

The debate on same is ongoing and we will keep you updated!

Our House Champagne Eclates de Meuliere Extra Brut Organic comes from an excellent producer Jeaunaux Robin from Talus Saint Prix South West of Epernay a region known for producing some of the finest Champagnes. Clear bright with fine and regular bubbles. The nose is open and composed of primary notes, which evoke freshness and fruit with green apple and hints of minerality, In the mouth the bubble is delectable and the wine is ample and round with a light style. It is expressed with simplicity and clarity. Absolute Organic Wine delivers Organic, Biodynamic, Natural and Vegan wines throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK.
