Biodynamic Wine making is a holistic, ecological, and ethical way of farming. Also known as closed loop farming, that considers every plot of vines to be a cosmos in itself. Biodynamic wine making follows the principles of the philosopher Rudolf Steiner and is based on the idea that a vineyard needs to be one self contained unit with nothing coming in from outside the farm. The planting sowing and reaping along with the other practices are carried out according to the lunar calendar when the planets and the gravitational forces they exert according to their position in the universe at a certain time of the year influence the plants on the Earth, connecting everything in the system. Biodynamic wines made using this approach expresses the true essence of the vineyard where they are produced and shows this in the vibrancy and vitality of the wine. This is true Terroir.
