Chateau Lamarche Canon, Canon Fronsac 2017. Organic & Biodynamic.

Deep, intense ruby, almost black colour, with a nose of great complexity, exhibiting smoky notes, blackcurrant nutmeg and plum spice.  On the palate it is full long with structured tannins, a well balanced wine.

Grapes: Merlot 70% Cabernet Franc 20% Malbec 10%

14.5% Abv.

12 months. 35% barrels, 10% max new, 35% in tuns, 30% in amphorae then end of aging for 10 months before bottling.

 Will age up to 12 years.

The soils of Fronsac and Canon Fronsac are mainly limestone and clay-limestone on the plateaus and on the hillsides, with a minor clay-siliceous soil at the foot of the hills.

Asteria limestone predominates on the mound and plateaus. The Fronsadais molasse marks the coasts and valleys. This typicality of the terroirs is accentuated by the relief.

It is this exceptional clay-limestone terroir that gave its name to the terroir of which many great appellations are proud, including the neighbouring appellations of Saint-Emilion "la molasse du Fronsadais".

It is the quality of these soils, supplied with water regularly and without stress, which gives the wines of Fronsac and Canon Fronsac their richness and complexity.
