The Grave del Friuli, characterized by a highly irrigated resurgence soil, extend over an area of ​​about 7,500 hectares along the Tagliamento river, mainly cultivated with Pinot Grigio, the wine par excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia. This plain that extends between the provinces of Udine and Pordenone was formed by the floods of the rivers that over the millennia have dragged and deposited dolomite debris downstream. The soil turns out to be a lucky combination of clay and stones. The proximity of the sea also gives the soil a saline character with a shell-like structure.
