Gigondas sits beneath the jagged limestone peaks of the Dentelles de Montmirail. It is often called Châteauneuf-du-Pape's little brother, though its wines have a wilder, more mountainous edge of their own.
Domaine la Guintrandy's is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, at 14%. It smells of red fruit and undergrowth with a hint of truffle, and arrives full-bodied, held together by fine-grained tannins. One for a special meal.
