Les Epenots is among Pommard's most celebrated premiers crus, lying at the Beaune end of the commune on clay-limestone facing south-east. Of the domaine's two Pommards on our shelves, this is the more structured.
The 2022 is a vivid red-purple, powerful yet elegant, with a silky, airy texture that belies its depth. Plum, black cherry and hints of blueberry and raspberry lead to fine tannins and a long, fresh finish. It has eight to ten years ahead of it. Serve at 16–18°C.
