Domaine Vaudoisey-Creusefond Pommard Charmots 2022

Pommard is the Côte de Beaune's most muscular red village, and Les Charmots is one of its premiers crus, on south-facing clay-limestone slopes at the northern end of the commune, towards Beaune. Vaudoisey-Creusefond keeps grass between the rows to restrain vigour and yields, harvests by hand, and uses neither insecticides nor herbicides.

The 2022 is a brilliant ruby, with black cherry, red fruit, black tea and nutmeg on the nose. On the palate, blackberry, plum and raspberry are balanced by minerality, fresh acidity and only a subtle touch of oak. Serve at 16–18°C; it will improve over the next six to eight years.
